Liquid Rubber Foundation Sealant/Basement Coating

• ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY - Liquid Rubber Foundation Sealant is water based, containing no Solvents or VOC's.  This means it's safe to use indoors and outdoors with no special breathing apparatus like solvenated products need.  You're safe, your children are safe and your pets are safe.  We believe you should have a choice in purchasing high quality products that are safe for you and the environment
• USED FOR - Foundations, ICF's, Basements, Shower Liners, Deck and Fence Posts, Planter Boxes, Metal, Wood, Concrete and more....
• EASY TO APPLY - Basically just like painting except you use heavy coats to build up your waterproof membrane.  Open the container and start using.  You can close the container and use later if you have left over material.  No pot life or working time like 2 component products.  Apply by Brush, Roller or High Quality Piston Paint Sprayer
• HIGHLY FLEXIBLE - Final membrane has over 900% Elongation.
• FOR A BULLETPROOF SYSTEM - Bridge joints, seams, vents, gaps, protrusions…. With LIQUID RUBBER SEAM TAPE or LIQUID RUBBER GEO-TEXTILE where possible movement may occur.
• Not meant as constant walking surface due to tackiness

• Flat/Ponding Surface

  Apply a minimum final thickness of 1 gallon per 15sq ft (1.4 sq/m). It should require around 4-5 heavy coats to achieve a 60-80 mil. (1.5-2mm) (DFT) membrane.

• Vertical Surfaces

  Exterior Foundation Wall

  Apply a minimum final thickness of 1 gallon per 20 sq ft (1.9 sq/m). It should require around 3-4 heavy coats to achieve a 40-60 mil. (1-1.5mm) (DFT) membrane.

  Interior Foundation Wall

  Apply a minimum final thickness of 1 gallon per 50 sq ft (4.6 sq/m). It should require around 2-3 heavy coats to achieve a 20-30 mil. (0.5-0.76mm) (DFT) membrane.

Tips

• Apply using a 3/8 (10mm) roller, brush or appropriate paint sprayer.
• Apply to a clean, dry surface that is free of dirt, silicone, loose paint, rust, oil, grease, coal tar, or other contaminants.
• Apply when temperature is above 5˚C/41˚F or 10˚C/50˚F and rising depending on product selected.
• For extra adhesion, performance and longevity and to create a moisture vapor barrier, use 1 heavy coat of Multi-Purpose Primer.
• Use Liquid Rubber Caulking for gaps and cracks.
  
• Apply each coat in an alternate direction to the last coat to ensure even coverage.
• Apply next coat when dry to the touch with nothing wet underneath and is uniform in color. (refer to product data sheet for dry times)
• Avoid contact with solvents and solvent based cleaners, adhesives, and paints.
• Do not allow to freeze.
• Do not combine Black products with Colored products.
• Wrap brushes in plastic to use for next coat.
• Remove painters tape/blocking while coating is still wet.
• Not meant for long term UV exposure.
• Not meant as a constant walking surface.
• Initial cure (set) within 24-48 hours as per specific product recommendations.
• Curing depends on temperature, humidity and airflow and specific product used.
• Extend rain gutters and slope grade away from your building.
• Ensure weeping tile is working properly channeling water away from your building.
• Make sure what you’re coating is at least 5 degrees above the dew point of the environment you are coating in. (See technical specs for more details)
• For best results remove existing paints/coatings and apply directly to the substrate. (Some paints and coatings will not be compatible. Loose/flaky paint may be an indication that the existing paint/coating is not well bonded and therefore your Liquid Rubber solution may fail if applied over it instead of directly to the substrate. Oil based paints, enamels, epoxies, powder coats can be difficult to bond to. Contact your Liquid Rubber technical representative for further direction.)
• It is always a good idea to apply a small test patch in an inconspicuous area to ensure adequate adhesion prior to full application.
• Do not apply in wet conditions or if rain or dew is forecast within 24 hours.

• Flat/Ponding Surface

• Vertical Surfaces

  Apply a minimum final thickness of 1 gallon per 25 sq ft (2.3 sq/m). It should require around 2-3 heavy coats to achieve a 30 mil  (0.76mm) (DFT) membrane.

• Avoid hot, direct, intense sun when applying.  Mornings and Evenings are best if it's blistering hot
• Product stays soft, flexible and may have some tackiness, not meant as a constant walking surface
• Apply next heavy coat when it's dry to touch (typically 6-8 hours), make sure there is no uncured material underneath.  Tacky is ok
• Generally you can apply 1-2 coats per day
• Apply all material until you use up the required amount
• Do not combine Black products with Colored products, use one or the other
• For larger areas, pour out and spread around with a broom, roller or squeegee
• If corrosion/rust is present, use a water-based rust primer.
• Use EPDM/TPO Primer for EPDM/TPO substrates.  Use Multi-Purpose Primer for PVC and Concrete Surfaces
• Apply above 10C/50F
• Curing time depends on temperature, humidity and airflow
• Apply next coat(s) as soon as possible not allowing extended time between if possible
• Do not apply later in the day if Dew is forecast
